How I Transformed My Life With Breathwork
Sarah Hyde questioned what success actually looks like, leading her on a journey to discover the benefits of breathwork.
Two years ago, I was living the life most women dream of. I’d built my own PR and marketing agency, House of Hyde. My mornings started with a workout at BXR, and my wardrobe was a curated dream of designer pieces. On the outside, everything looked polished, but inside, I was burning out.
I had no real relationship, not even with myself. My nervous system was overwhelmed, and I was living in a loop of stress, anxiety, and performance. So I booked a breathwork retreat. I didn’t fully know why. I just knew I needed something, I needed space to feel again. That retreat changed everything.
The first session cracked something open. I laid down and began to breathe. Nothing complicated. Just a conscious connected breath, in and out of the mouth. Within minutes, I felt the weight in my chest begin to melt and, for the first time in years, I didn’t feel numb. I felt like me.
That moment sparked a complete transformation. Breathwork didn’t just change my life, it returned me to it. I went on to train in the practice that had cracked me open. Now, I use the breath as a tool, alongside coaching, to help other women come home to themselves, just like I did.
So, what exactly happened when I brought breathwork into my life? Allow me to tell you, because I know you can all feel these similar effects as well.
1. Stress Left My Body
I thought I was managing stress well, but the truth is I had no idea I was stuck in it. My body had been living in fight or flight for years. Constantly overthinking, my heart always racing, the need to control everything. I realised it wasn’t my personality; it was nervous system dysregulation. Breathwork gave me a way to reset from the inside. It didn’t just slow me down — it regulated me. My body softened, my mind stopped spinning, I began to feel grounded. I still run House of Hyde, but I do it now from a place of clarity, not chaos.
2. I Became a Manifestation Magnet
I’d spent years trying to crack the manifestation code. But beneath it all, I was creating from fear and lack — from the pressure to prove myself. Outwardly, my life looked like success. Inwardly, it was built on anxiety. Breathwork changed that. It cleared the fear, brought my heart and mind back into alignment, and connected me to something greater: the universe. I began to feel and believe what was truly possible for me — not just think it. And from that place, everything shifted. Aligned clients, divine timing, new creative ideas. It all began to flow effortlessly because I was finally creating from my truth.
3. I Remembered My Purpose
This was the piece I didn’t expect. Breathwork connected me back to why I’m here: to serve, to create, to guide. Whether it’s supporting my PR and marketing clients or coaching women through the blocks I once faced, this is soul work. When I was in stress, there was no space for anything extraordinary to move through me. I was stuck in survival. Now I’m in creator mode. Breathwork opened up a channel I didn’t know I had and reminded me of what I came here to do.
4. Emotions Finally Moved Through Me
In the past, I’d tried everything to move through my past. You name it, I’d attempted it. Breathwork dropped me straight into my body and into my subconscious. It allowed me to access emotions I didn’t know I was still carrying — and move them through. There’s a huge difference between talking about your feelings and actually feeling them. Breathwork gave me a safe, embodied way to release. My nervous system finally felt safe. I no longer have to perform being “ok”. I am ok.
5. My Sleep, My Skin, My Sanity
I used to run on caffeine and cortisol. My nights were restless. My skin was dull. My mind never stopped. Now I sleep deeply, I move with energy, my skin glows, and I’m no longer in survival mode — I’m thriving. Every part of me has elevated, and it all started with something so simple: the breath.
The Truth
Breathwork didn’t just help me feel better. It gave me my life back. It reconnected me to my truth, my purpose, my power. It taught me how to lead myself first so I could lead others. This isn’t about slowing down. It’s about coming back into alignment. Because when a woman remembers how to breathe, she remembers how to live. And that’s where the real magic begins.
